My Predictions for the year 2100

Okay, here is a list of some of my predictions for 91 years from now. Keep in mind I have no education relating to any of this stuff, I am just making it up off the seat of my pants.

Electricity
Forget Solar, Wind Power, and all those. We are going to be powered by the reaction caused by collision of atoms in the air and cosmic rays from space. All our appliances etc, will not need to be plugged in, they will just feed off the energy present around them. We wont be “off the grid” because there simply will be no grid. The grid will be a thing of the past.

Computers
Computers as we know them will cease to exist. Everything will be controlled with a simple and microscopic implant that will allow the unused portion of our brains to be our permanent computers. Our brains will do everything that modern computers today do – that and a 1000x more.

Exercise
Life will get a little boring, as everyone with the money to buy there computer implant, will have a health program installed. When you think that you are putting on a little too much weight, you will just run your “body-defrag” and the computer in your brain will remove the excess weight, tone your muscles, and keep you trim and healthy. There will be no more obesity.

This program is a welcome change too, considering the lack of exercise we will face with the advancements in transportation.

Transportation
Star Trekkies rejoice. Teleportation will be here, and there will be no more need for mass transit, cars, planes, or any of that junk. Heck, even now, we have built the technology to teleport information between two separate atoms. Just imagine where this will take us in 100 years from now. The impossible just may not be impossible.

Food
You’re going to miss that steak dinner. Global warming will cause mass chaos in the food chain and we will survive off of proteins grown in the lab, fake meat laced with all kinds of chemicals mimicking vitamins and other essential nutrients.

Sun Burns
You know those bad sunburns you get in the summer these days? They will be a thing of the past. We humans will evolve to make us immune to sunburns by causing our body’s to emit their own version of sun block.

That’s it for my predictions today. I will write a part 2 later when I am feeling creative again. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on these crazy ideas, and would also love to hear your far-out predictions. Leave them in a comment to this post, or contact me!

A few days ago I posted about a “how to cook with sperm” cookbook. I must say I dont know where these people come from – I just dont understand. I thought, there cant possibly be much of a market for that.

Today I saw that failblog had uncovered a great price on the number one needed ingredient:

extra fresh sperm

Yuck!

Strawberry Verenika

For years my family has been making Strawberry Verenika. I love it. Its like dessert for dinner. Whenever I have told people about it, they’re comments are usually “strawberry what?”.

In a nutshell it’s like a strawberry perogy. Strawberries and sugar wrapped in dough, boiled, then topped with a butter gravy. This is usually served with farmer sausage. Its super delicious, and probably far from healthy, but that’s okay.

If you want to give it a try, here is what you do:

Roll the dough thin and cut into 4 inch squares. Place a frozen strawberry or two in the center, add some sugar, and fold together. Boil for 3-5 minutes and serve. Top with butter gravy.

Here are the recipes:

Dough
- 3 eggs
- 9 table spoons of milk
- 3-4 cups of flour

Mix about 2 cups of flour with the eggs and milk. Slowly add more flour until you get a doughy mixture that isn’t too sticky or wet. Roll on a well floured counter and cut into squares

Butter Gravy

- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1 table spoon of butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Flour

In a sauce pan mix the whipping cream and butter with a dash of salt and pepper. Bring to simmering stirring constantly. Add flour slowly to thicken.

My grandmother would probably not approve, but I recently tried an easier method. Cut the dough into noodles, and cook. Cook your strawberries with sugar on the stove until warm, and serve like pasta, topped with the butter gravy. Tastes about the same, but way less work!

Cooking With Semen? You’ve Got to be Kidding Me!

So I see a lot of weird stuff – and some of it is super disgusting. Case in point: today I had an instant message sent over to me from a good friend. I will leave his name out of this post as I am sure he does not want anyone knowing he was shopping around for this stuff.

He sent me a link to a cook book. The title of the book: “Natural Harvest – A Collection of Semen-Based Recipes“. Say what??

At first I was positive this must be some kind of a joke. I checked out the site, scanned through some of the sample pages, and while I am pretty convinced this is not a joke, I really really really wish it was.

So even though this book does appear to exist, I am willing to guess that the vast majority of purchases were likely made by people looking for that perfect gag gift.

I am half tempted to buy it, just for the laughs it would bring me to put it on the table after having company over for dinner. “Oh, that pasta you liked so much, I got the recipe from this book”.

…I’ll Just Have a Glass of Pee Please

Nothing like a fresh glass of urine in the morning! Last week NASA sent up a gift to the International Space Station, and it could have astronauts literally drinking their pee with a twist of sweat and a dash of shaving cream.

A new water purification system will save NASA huge amounts of money once hooked up and ready to go. Currently the cost to ship a pint of fresh water to space is around $10,000. The new system will drastically reduce the fresh shipments by making use of existing liquids already in space.

Soon the new “Water Recovery System” will take in fluids used in showering, shaving, tooth brushing, hand washing, water vapor and sweat from inside space suits, and yes even urine, and produce fresh, clean, clear water – water that is actually more pure than the stuff that comes out of your kitchen faucet.

Recycling water and oxygen is critical to sustaining life in space, which makes this is an important step forward.

I have seen shows where raw sewage is taken and purified to produce water that is cleaner than anything you’d get from your tap, but this still disgusts me. It’s entirely mental – I’m sure that if someone gave me two glasses, one with tap water, and one with recycled urine, I would probably find the old pee tastes better, but still, it’s a difficult concept to swallow.
