I found out about this on FailBlog of all places.

Here is the situation. Demetrius Soupolos tried to get his wife pregnant but failed, So he hired his married neighbor, Frank Maus, to do the job for $2500. After 72 attempts over 6 months, and still no pregnancy, Soupolos ordered Maus to take a medical exam. Maus agreed, not suspecting any fertility problems as he has two kids.

Maus’ wife objected and demanded that this arrangement stop. Maus insisted that he was only doing it for the money. Maus later got the medical report from the doctor back and found out he was completely sterile. His wife then made the confession that she had cheated on him, and that neither of their two children are even his.

Now Soupolos is suing Maus for breach of contract to get back his $2500.

I have to say, I would LOVE to see that one on the Peoples Court.

Moral of the story, don’t have sex with your neighbors wife for money to get her pregnant unless you are positive that your wife has been faithful to you and that your kids are actually your kids – or maybe just don’t have sex with your neighbors wife.

Real or not, its still amusing.

A Finnish software developer has had a USB flash drive implanted into his prosthetic finger. After losing part of his finger in a motorcycle accident last year, Jerry Jalava’s doctor suggested he have a USB drive built into his replacement digit.

When he needs to use it he simply pops off his finger and sticks it into the computer. I think this is a great idea, and am thinking about getting a couple drives surgically implanted into my nipples. (I was going to say somewhere else, but that’s too crude even for me to write publically – although I guess I just kinda did.)

Aside from playing around with this blog, I also have a very geographically specific website dedicated to my local area. On that website I also offer free classified ads for locals.

For some time now my other site has been hit hard by spammers from the affiliate program clicknearn.net based on Pakistan. I tried contacting the affiliate program, and they replied saying that they feel strongly against spam, but never did anything about it with their affiliates. I suspect that they actually couldn’t care less, and in fact, are probably the spammers themselves.

Ultimately I started banning the IP’s of the people spamming my classifieds, one at a time. But they kept coming with several posts a day. After doing some digging earlier this week I discovered www.blockacountry.com which quickly and easily generates the htaccess code required to completely block a specific country from your site. I generated and posted the code, and now, no more spam. YAY.

I hated the idea of blocking an entire country from my site, however, as my site is very specific to my local area, I doubt there are many people from Pakistan actually interested in my site anyways, so that combined with the removal of SPAM, I took the step and just blocked them all.

I later posted what I had done in Twitter noting the block a country website and got a reply from “imrananwar” who noted that he has founded an registry to help track problem ISP’s so that all of Pakistan is not hurt by these types of spammers. I provided him with the list of ISP’s that had spammed my site, the nature of the spam, etc. He is working to help reduce spam, and while I am not sure if he will succeed, I am happy to see that there are people out there that care and are trying to do something about all this bad stuff.

Okay, so until today I liked my job. Now I don’t. Why don’t I like my job anymore? Well, I discovered I can make way more money at a far better job… well, I would need some practice. I am also willing to bet that all red blooded (straight) men out there would also LOVE this other job.

So men, what do you say? Interested? What if I said you could make $2000 a day painting art onto nude, and gorgeous, carnival models? Oh ya, I thought that would get your attention.

Artist Betto Almeida does just this, painting naked women… literally (as it putting the paint onto the naked women, not painting a picture of a naked woman). He does this all day long and earns $2000 to do it – heck, I’d do it for free – if my wife wouldnt mind…

Okay, I am not an American, but I do know that there are 50 US States. (Aren’t there?). Just the other day I was writing about how Americans know next to nothing about Canadian Geography, so why is it possible that I, a Canadian, know something about US geography that even US President Barack Obama Doesnt know?

Here in this video, he claims to have visited 57 US States… Hmm… 57?

(Now I realize that this is an old video, it isnt exactly fresh news, but today was the first time I had seen it.)

(To be fair, I think he meant to say 47 States, but hes a politician, and everyone points this kinda stuff out – don’t they?)

Wow, this Virg Bernero guy seems a little crazy when watching this video clip – Not only does he lash out at the Fox News anchor, he doesn’t even answer the questions that are asked – its like he’s in his own little world. He seems to have an agenda that he wants to talk about and doesn’t care about the irrelevance to the particular questions.

So you have decided to live a life of crime – stealing cars, mugging people, armed robbery, and all that bad stuff. Whats the best way to escape being busted by the police? Well, you may think it’s turning yourself into a Goat, but the police are onto that trick – at least in Nigeria.

When I read this story I was sure it was direct from the presses over at the Onion, but after seeing it at Reuters and Yahoo News, I suspect ths story is true – sorta.

You can read the full story over at Yahoo News, but the jist of it is that a group of vigilantes hauled a goat into a police station in Nigeria claiming it was an armed robber who turned himself into a goat to escape arrest after attempting to steal a Mazda 323.

Apparently this goat is still in police custody – yet another reason I am glad to be Canadian.

Yesterday I called technical support over at Olympus for my wife’s digital camera. The charger is not working correctly and I want it fixed or replaced on warranty. I called the 1-800 # which sent me to a call center in PA.

The woman was very friendly and courteous, but I was surprised when she asked me my address. When I got to my province, and I said “BC” she asked “I’m sorry, where?” I then said, “BC, British Columbia, Canada”. She then replied, “is that like Ontario?”

Is that like Ontario? Seriously? It’s a Canadian Province, so I guess it’s like Ontario. The question caught me off guard – surprised she had never heard of BC.

I am the first to admit that, as a Canadian I don’t know American geography all that well. I tried to list all 50 states and came up with only 29 off the top of my head, but if someone noted any of the missing 21 from my list, I can tell you with certainty that I would recognize them as US states.

All this got me thinking, how well do Americans, on average, know Canadian Geography? I have met a number, who don’t have a clue – On a trip to Vegas a while back I mentioned to a guy that I was from Canada, he asked “wheres that?”.

Do I just have the misfortune of stumbling across all the Americans that are oblivious when it comes to Canada, or do most of you have at least a partial clue? How well do you know your neighbors to the North?

I have to say, some people are just idiots. At least Sandor Ferenci, a motorcycle stunt driver from the UK. Ferenci had had friend video him driving at speeds of more than 130 miles per hour. His video was then posted on YouTube.

A random motorist had seen Ferenci driving recklessly and reported it to the police. They went to his home to investigate, and he asked them “Is this about the YouTube video?” Well, the police didn’t know about the video and looked into it.

The video ended up being the final nail in his coffin. He Ferenci was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail, and will also lose his driving privilages for the next two years. He will be required to take a driving test before getting his license back sometime in 2010.

All I have to say is, what an idiot. Posting his crimes online wound up screwing him in the end. While he does deserve what he gets, its amazing how people go out of their way to advertise what they are doing. This isn’t the first, nor will it be the last time when someone posts something to the web and winds up incriminating themselves. Watch out what you post online! That’s all I have to say!
