A Minnesota man, Todd Tweedy, yesterday posted about his depression in an apparent suicide note onto his Facebook timeline. Since then hundreds have commented on his post and friends, family, and fans are on a full out search to find him before it is too late. His facebook status, as of around 7pm EST last night read: “One illness I’ve never been able to defeat is my own depression. I have to say goodbye now. I wish each of you a wonderful New Year!

If you have seen Todd, or his car, you are asked to contact the St Paul police department – hopefully he can be reached in time. He drives a Red VW Passat, Minnesota plate 545 BLM.

US Debt & Taxing the Rich

First I will admit I know very little about the whole US Debt crisis etc etc. I do know that (Correct me if I am wrong) that essentially the Republicans do NOT want to tax the rich, but instead want to pull money from social programs.

I think this is a load of shit.

Lets think about this. A single mother working minimum wage to try and support her kids NEEDS that funding for daycare, and other social programs etc. Millions rely on this sort of thing. It is incredibly important.

So why pull from them, when you can take money via tax increases for the rich? Someone making $1,000,000 a year will hardly (if at all) notice the tax increase.

“Oh No, This tax increase will mean one less trip on my private jet next year”. or “I guess I will have to wait a few extra months to buy that new Porsche I want”. Don’t you think that putting food in the mouths of those in need is just slightly more important?

Frankly it makes me angry. It is this mentality that makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. Where is Robin Hood when you need him!

How much money does one person really need? There are some people who could literally spend a million $$ a day and NEVER run out of money! What is that?? They have so much money they couldnt spend it if they tried.

Sure, not all the rich have THAT much money, but even a salary of $500,000 a year is far more money than anyone NEEDS. Those that have this kind of money – those making huge unreasonable salaries got there on the backs of the poor – it is time they said “Thank you for making me super-duper rich, here are a few $$ back to try and pay down the debt”.

Grr. It all just makes me angry to see this.

Brock Anton, Vancouver BC – Moron or… Moron?

So what was Brock Anton thinking? You may have seen all the news coverage of the rioting in Vancouver from last night. Well, Police are certainly going after everyone they can who was involved in the looting, assaults, vandalism etc. But one man, Brock Anton, has made it incredibly easy for Police to find him – and I hope they lock him up and throw the book at him. It is people like Brock Anton that make this world a worse place.

So what has he done to draw attention to himself? Check out this leaked Facebook screenshot from a post he put up last night after he returned home from a busy night of rioting…

While he may be a moron, at least it pretty much guarantees that at least one culprit will get busted. Thanks Brock for making it easy for the police to get you!

Brock Anton, Vancouver BC Rioter

Incase you have trouble reading from the image, here is what he said:

“Maced in the face, hit with a batton, tear gassed twice, 6 broken fingers, blood everywhere, punched

a fucken pig in the head with riot gear on knocked him to the ground, through the jersey on a burning cop car flipped some cars, burnt some smart cars, burnt some cop cars, I’m on the news…. One word …. History :) :):)”

Mr Anton, I am sure you have made your parents and family very proud.

Japan Nuclear Fallout, and Canada / US – Radiation Sickness

So from the sounds of it, if we are to trust the mass media and the information fed to them by politicians, Canada and the US are in little to no danger due to Nuclear Fallout. That said, I personally believe that they would say this anyways to prevent people from panicking – something that will likely happen any way in the event of a full meltdown.

More recent reports are indicating that a full meltdown is highly unlikely. Again, I am not sure how true this is, but I sure hope it is. Read the rest of this entry »

Nuclear Meltdown in Japan and Fallout in North America

So I am a little pissed.

Here we have a looming threat of a Nuclear meltdown in Japan, but so far NONE of the news stations are saying what will happen to the West Coast of Canada and the US should this meltdown occur.

If there is a meltdown, there is a strong possibility that the jet-stream will carry Nuclear fallout over to the West Coast, however, nobody is covering this worst case scenario and what it means to us. How much radiation is likely to reach Canada and the US if this happens, and what, if anything, can we do to prepare for it? Are we doomed, or will we simply have minor problems that will pass?

Click now to get PREPARED!

I think it is highly irresponsible for the news stations to not cover this possibility – If there is anything I can do to prepare, I want to do it, I don’t want to be scrambling last minute with some warning hours before we are effected. They have had days to prepare us for anything, yet we know nothing!

I am not sure what the original source of this image is for Nuclear Fallout from Japan, but if there is any truth to it, it is rather frightning...

UPDATE: It has been brought to my attention that thankfully this image is a fake! Thanks so much Nem for finding this and letting me know! Here is the link confirming it as a fake over at Snopes!

If I learn anything I will post it here – I urge you to comment as well should you find any good links, or see any good video that covers what we should do to prepare for the worst.

Are you worried about Nuclear Fallout hitting North America?

Buster The Dog Predicts 7.2 Quake in Mexico

On Saturday evening our dog, Buster, was acting very strange. Near bedtime, he was barking, running around in the house, and very easily startled. He kept wanting to go outside, barking at the door (something that is VERY rare for him at night). When we let him outside, he would just sit on the step and stare at the door – not like him at all.

My wife put him on the bed with us, normally he would just lay at our feet. Instead he kept coming and trying to sleep on our pillows and nuzzle up to us. It was all very strange.

I dozed off and then my wife woke me up, worried that something was going to happen, like an earthquake. We have seen many shows where people claim that their pets have acted strange before an earthquake, or other disaster.

That night nothing happened. In the morning, I even went online to see if anything had happened anywhere, and nothing. Then this morning I found out that an earthquake ad in fact struck!

A 7.2 Earthquake struck Mexico at 3:40 Sunday afternoon. Here is the CNN report.

Now I am not certain that Animals do in fact have the ability to predict earthquakes – maybe they do, maybe they don’t, I don’t know, but this does make me wonder. We’ll find out next time he acts all weird.

Patrick Swayze Dies at 57

Today Patrick Swayze died at age 57 after his battle with pancreatic cancer.

Personally I was never a Swayze fan, but it is certainly a sad day for his family.

2009 has definately been a bad year for the deaths of celebrities. This year so far we have seen the loss of Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, Billy Mays, Ted Kennedy, and now Patrick Swayze. Even food celebrities Oscar Meyer and the Taco Bell dog signed off this year.

Google Earth Discovers Loch Ness Monster

The Loch Ness Monster has been found!

If you take a look at Google Earth (57°12?52.13?N, 4°34?14.16?W) and scroll down a bit, you’ll see that this could be the discovery of the Loch Ness Monster! (To the left of the boat).

It could also be nothing. I am guessing nothing. But it could be the real thing too.

What are your thoughts? How would you explain this?

Earlier this year it was thought that Google Earth had uncovered the lost city of Atlantis.

Man Tries 72 Times to Impregnate Neighbor’s Wife

I found out about this on FailBlog of all places.

Here is the situation. Demetrius Soupolos tried to get his wife pregnant but failed, So he hired his married neighbor, Frank Maus, to do the job for $2500. After 72 attempts over 6 months, and still no pregnancy, Soupolos ordered Maus to take a medical exam. Maus agreed, not suspecting any fertility problems as he has two kids.

Maus’ wife objected and demanded that this arrangement stop. Maus insisted that he was only doing it for the money. Maus later got the medical report from the doctor back and found out he was completely sterile. His wife then made the confession that she had cheated on him, and that neither of their two children are even his.

Now Soupolos is suing Maus for breach of contract to get back his $2500.

I have to say, I would LOVE to see that one on the Peoples Court.

Moral of the story, don’t have sex with your neighbors wife for money to get her pregnant unless you are positive that your wife has been faithful to you and that your kids are actually your kids – or maybe just don’t have sex with your neighbors wife.

Note: I highly suspect that this story may in fact be fake, as I was unable to find any legit news source discussing it. I saw it mentioned in a couple forums, as well as failblog. Here is the image from failblog.

McNugget Emergency Call 911!

So you have decided that its time to have lunch. You head over to the local McDonalds and order up some McNuggets. You give the cashier your money, she gives you your change, then she notifies you that they are sold out of nuggets.

Now in most cases, you would do one of two things: Either change your order, pay the difference, and carry on, OR get a full refund, and get something to eat elsewhere.

Well, for a Florida woman, Latresesa Goodman, when she asked for her money back, the manager at the McDonalds refused, and it resulted in not one, not two, but three 911 calls.

Goodman was furious that the McDonalds would not return her money (and rightfully so) but withholding McNuggets is a far cry from an emergency, and definitely not worthy of a 911 call.

The police finally arrived at the McDonalds and Goodman certainly didn’t get what she wanted – instead she was arrested for misuse of 911.

According to TMZ, McDonalds ultimately sent her a full refund and an apology as well as a certificate for free meal. They noted that the customer should have received a refund, and regret what has happened.

Now I agree that McDonalds was in the wrong, but Goodman certainly should not have called 911. It got me thinking, what would I do? Well, if management refused to refund my money, I am not entirely sure what I would do. Perhaps a letter to the paper and a phone call to McDonalds head office to launch a formal complaint – I doubt I would call 911. Maybe I’d even take them on Judge Judy, although that would be more humiliating, and not worth the $5 return.

A recording of all three 911 calls can be heard here.
