Spring is just around the corner, and most people won’t be thinking about snow for some time. Shoveling your driveway is probably one of the last things on your mind but if the Roboplow ever comes on the market you just might get excited the next time the white stuff starts to fall…
Well, today was the first full day of spring (March 21, 2009). (Technically, Spring started yesterday, on Friday the 20th, but because it wasnt technically spring till 11:47 last night, today was the first full day).
Spring comes when the sun is directly over the equator, the Vernal Equinox – it varies between the 18th and 23rd of March.
Today was a great one for me – after misearable weather for the past several weeks, this first day of spring brought sunshine and slightly warmer weather – this also brought outdoor projects like yard work and garage organization so no real relaxation, but all in all a great day.
I saw a crazy video today. I have heard about this before, but watching the video makes it all that much cooler.
Apparently if you toss boiling water into the air at a temperature of -34 F, the water will instantly turn to snow.
I would love to try this myself, but the coldest it gets around my part of the world is about -15 C, or 5 F. Not long ago I lived in Dease Lake, and it definitely gets cold enough there, but unfortunately I didn’t know about this at the time. Oh well.
