If a chocolate bar cost Nestle 5 cents to make and they sold it for $125, would you still buy it? Probably not. But millions of Americans pay a markup like this on many of their prescription drugs, many of which cost pennies for the pharmaceutical companies to produce, but yet they sell them for hundreds of dollars! Markups of more than 100,000% are not all that uncommon!
